Storytime of this sweet surprise marriage proposal! This was one of the few times when I met with the groom-to-be that they had the whole plan in place. Rahul already knew when, where and how he was going to propose, making my job super easy.
Rahul & Harshita have a running joke that she has terrible eyes and cannot see far, so Rahul's plan was to stick a large poster of letter board you would find at the eye doctor on the window of their hotel room. They actually have stayed in that same room before so as they were walking down to along the pier, she kept looking back at their room and the window. One of the fun things about surprise proposals is that you never know exactly what to expect. Rahul and I had a plan on the general spot where he was going to get down on one knee but we had to change it last minute because she stopped midway to look at the window.
You can tell from the photos that it definitely captures her sense of confusion and then finally coming to the realization of what was happening. It was so cute, so innocent and she was in utter shock the rest of our session. She didn't even realize I was there until I walked up and introduced myself. I will never forget it.
Surprise proposals are definitely one of my favourite types of sessions. Don't get me wrong, I get incredibly nervous, and anxious but also beyond excited to be the one to capture such a special moment.
